A mobile application for car drivers that utilize geolocation and related technologies for Roadhouse Interactive. "The Road Less Travelled" incorporates social and gameplay elements into a GPS navigation system to bring innovative and interactive experiences to users.

 
Teleconference
(Ken Perlin’s R&D project, NYU Media Research Lab)

Unity3D programmer   August, 2014

 

An R&D project using Xbox Kinect v2 and Unity3d with the goal of creating a more immersive teleconference experience. The professor of this project is Ken Perlin from New York University Media Research Lab. Ken is the creator of Perlin Noise and his turbulence procedural texturing techniques, which is widely used in feature films and television.

Digital Vancouver (GeoSim)

The goal of this project is to explore the possible usage of a accurately simulated virtual 3d city. The client of this project is GeoSim.

Wastewater purifying plant demo system (internship project)

Catch Mashimaro (freelance project)

A 3D doll crane mobile game developed in Unity3D engine. Mashimaro is a very famous cartoon character in East Asia. The client of this project was On Design (South Korea).

Ninja’s Reach (EA Code War)

Ninja’s Reach is a 2D multiplayer side scrolling game developed in 12 hours’ time for EA Code War. This game won the team second place in the competition.

Breaking the Cliché  (Augmented reality art installation)

Breaking the Cliché is an augmented reality art installation that explores the different ways in which famous landmarks can be viewed and photographed. 

Hot Pie

Programmer   2014  Microsoft Game Jam

 

Hot Pie is a voice controlled 2D end less runner game made in the Pie Jam hosted by Microsoft. The total production time of this game is about 24 hours. It is also my experiment of using different design patterns and structures for game programming.

Home, Sweet Home

Home, Sweet Home is a point and click game with multi-story line and different endings. This is the project is for the visual story class in the Master of Digital Media program. The total development time of this project is about 2 months.

Shuriken

Generalist programmer   2014 Global Game Jam

 

Shuriken is a 2D side scrolling pc game made in 48 hours in the Global Game Jam. It is an experiment on rapid prototyping and game design. The idea work out pretty well and we are thinking about polish it more and publish it to the market in the near future.

Muffin

Generalist programmer   2013 Vancouver Full Indie Game Jam

 

Muffin is the mobile game we designed and built in the Vancouver full indie game jam. The main character is controlled by the accelerometer on the mobile device and he need to avoid and destroy all the evil enemies. The total production time of this project is about 48 hours. We are now planning to polish it more and publish this game to iTunes.

Yummy

Yummy is a voice controlled endless running game. Players can use the volume of their voice to control the height of the game character Yummy. This game is made on the CDM’s game jam in 48 hours.

Monk

Monk is a 3D side scrolling action game made in Unity3D engine in 2010. This is my first big student project using Unity3D engine and we have a 15 people production team spent 2 month on this project. The biggest chanllenge is that at that time there's still not a lot of learning materials for Unity3D on the Internet. We have to figure out most of the problems by ourself. Gained a lot of experience by the end of this project.

Van Helsing

Van Helsing is a 3D first person shooting game for game design class in Chung-Ang University. We got inspired from Van Helsing the movie and decided to make it into a game. Our production team has 15 members and we spent 2 month on this project. Also most of the team members are the ones I never worked with before. I learned a lot about project management, team communication and agile development process.

This is the character I designed and created for my graduation project in university. Design inspiration comes from some on line RPGs and also ancient legend characters. Model was built and textured in Zbrush. Rigged and posed in Maya. Rendered with mental ray. Used multi-pass render and composited every thing in photoshop.

First time trying using Zbrush to create hair and fur for characters. All the models and furs can be rendered with Maya or Max. Created and rendered all in Zbrush.
